Good morning, Blogging Family! I can’t believe that our last full week in San Jose is drawing to a close. We’ll begin our 5-day drive to Indianapolis next Wednesday (including our two cats, Daisy and Zelda). This is our first time attempting inter-state cat transportation, so we appreciate your prayers for wisdom, grace toward each other should complications arise, and safety for us and our kitties. Planning this trip has given me a whole new level of respect for my own parents, who have driven cats and kids across the country in relatively small cars multiple times!
The past month has been a bittersweet season of reflecting on all that the Lord has done in our lives over almost a decade in the Bay Area. We’ve also been saying goodbye (Lord-willing, “until we meet again”) to many of the individuals and families God placed in our lives during this season. While we are excited to see what God will do once we arrive in Indianapolis, it is also incredibly hard to leave the community here!
One of our recent “until we meet agains” was with a couple that God has used to encourage us and also provide an unexpected opportunity for me to play worship and chamber music again. The video above is our improv on CeCe Winan’s “The Goodness of God.” The lyrics of this song encapsulate our gratitude for everything God has done through the love and prayers of everyone in our lives, whether you live nearby or far away:
I love You, Lord
For Your mercy never fails me
All my days
I’ve been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
‘Cause all my life you have been faithful
And all my life you have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
I love Your voice
You have lead me through the fire
In darkest nights
You are close like no other
I’ve known You as a Father
I’ve known You as a Friend
And I have lived in the goodness of God
Your goodness is running after
It’s running after me
Your goodness is running after
Is running after me
With my life laid down, I surrender now
I give You everything, oh, Lord
Your goodness is running after
Is running after me
‘Cause all my life you have been faithful
And all my life you have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
Thank you as always for walking with us. We look forward to sharing more updates when we arrive in Indianapolis! ❤
